Adult Pottery: “In God We Trust” Penny Mug with Linda LaRock

Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States with this fun pottery project! What was the first coin you put away for safe keeping? It may have been a penny…Let’s use the penny in clay to design a mug. Because as we now know, they may be a thing of the past soon! Students will learn pinch pot techniques to create a mug, with the aid of a banding wheel. The handle becomes the best spot to embellish with pennies. But if time allows you may decorate other areas to complete your penny mug. All levels are welcome to join, ages 18+. The cost of this class includes 2 lbs. of clay. Additional clay is available for purchase. The cost of the firing fee and glazing fee depends on the size and shape of your project.
