The Spectral Express: Ahmed Salvador at IV Gallery
The last weekend to see The Spectral Express, an exhibit by photographer Ahmed Salvador at the IV Gallery (eyevee, the Inlet Valley Arts Center) on the Cortright Electric property in Ithaca. Miniatures and model train sets, lightboxes of film, darkroom color prints of disappearing stations and houses, and a three-walled video that animates the photographs and at times destroys the miniatures. Open Saturday and Sunday, 12-4 PM, through November 1. The gallery is also open during the movie night on Friday, October 30 at 7 PM and the Graveyard Bash music performances on Saturday, October 31 starting at 6:30 PM. Getting there: it's the front house by the road on Route 13, between the cemetery and the Grayhaven Motel. Parking at the cemetery is preferred; enter in the back. Updates: @eyevee and @ahmedasadsalvador on Instagram. More about the artist: https://www.fireflyletters.com/ahmed-salvador
