Try-It: Acrylic Painting

This engaging, playful 2-hour class includes all supplies (paint, brushes, canvas) with all skill levels welcome. Everyone will leave with a finished Ithaca nature scene on stretched canvas. Professional illustrator Laura Baran provides step-by-step painting instruction. Participants will map out a composition in pencil, adjust paint transparency with water, mix colors, layer brushstrokes, and discuss easy color tricks to add dimension. For ages 12+ Laura Baran is an award-winning Ithaca-based artist with a BFA in Illustration from FIT in New York. She values encouragement, inclusion, and judgment-free creativity.
